In mid-January of 2006, a number of Boston-area Catholic Women that were active in Women’s or Family Ministries were invited to a meeting by organizers of the Boston Catholic Men’s Conference.  We were informed that the Men’s Conference organizers had fielded more than 100 recent inquiries from women asking whether there was going to be a Catholic Women’s Conference in 2006.  We all recognized that there was demand and need for a women’s conference.  But could we pull one together in just 6 weeks?

We were blessed that the Men’s Conference team was willing to share their knowledge and infrastructure with us.  We reserved a local Church that could seat up to 1,000 women, figuring that that would be the maximum number of women that we could attract in such a short time.  But after a week of registration in late January, we already had received 800 registrations!  We knew we needed a larger facility.  We were grateful that the team at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center worked with us to allow us to leverage the setup for the Men’s Conference.  We were thrilled a few weeks later when more than 3,300 Catholic women were able to attend and share their faith with each other. 

We are looking forward to the 2nd Boston Catholic Women’s Conference on Sunday March 18, 2007 and the 2nd Boston Catholic Men’s Conference on Saturday March 17, 2007.

We encourage all Catholic Women to consider attending our 2nd conference and inviting sisters, mothers, daughters, work colleagues, fellow parishioners, Religious sisters and friends to attend.

We also encourage all Catholic Women to consider joining (or even starting!) a local Catholic Women’s Group. Please see the “Women’s Groups” tab on the drop down menu at the top for a listing of nearby groups.
